Cowboys were hired by ranchers to drive and tend to their cattle and other livestock. Cowboys and their lifestyles have been a romanticized idea of young kids and Americans all over the United States for a very long time. I mean, what little kid (or adult) at one point didn’t say they wanted to be a cowboy or cowgirl in the Wild Wild West? To us, a Cowboy and his way of life represents a sort of freedom from the norm and total badassness, because have you ever seen a western movie?
